The University Of British Columbia has done the incredible and has built a skate park into their campus. This awesome concrete setup offers a mixture of transition and plaza with a bowl section and more conventional ledges, rails and flat bank options. There’s a fun transition wall / ledge in the plaza area, along with other unique and fun options. More universities and colleges should take a page of UBC’s book and make these setups happen.
Located in the centre of the UBC campus, the park can be accessed off of Thunderbird Blvd and Health Sciences Mall; there are two pay parking lots on each side of the skate park. Parking is actively monitored on campus, so be sure to pay to park to avoid expensive tickets.
